The Baltimore County Consortium for Professional Education in the Field of Aging will hold its 10th annual advocacy conference on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Baltimore in Timonium, Maryland. This year’s topic is “Reaching for Recovery: Advocating for the Behavioral Health Needs of Seniors and Vulnerable Adults”. The keynote speaker is Kathryn Fainholt, Executive Director of NAMI Maryland, who will address ways professionals and caregivers can support and advocate for individuals with behavioral health needs. Sessions will include topics such as action plans for behavioral well-being, care for caregivers of those with mental illness, aging & mental health, understanding and de-escalating agressive behavior, special considerations for those with traumatic brain injury, setting boundaries and the impact of the affordable care act on behavioral health.
The cost of the conference is $65, which includes continental breakfast and lunch. CEU’s available for Social Workers, Nurses, and Nursing Home Administrators. We hope that you can join us for this very special event.
