Minority Participants Crucial to Effective Aging Studies
A new supplemental issue of The Gerontologist urges aging researchers to include representative samples of ethnically diverse populations in their work. The publication also identifies research priorities for moving the science of recruitment and retention forward, in addition to providing several strategies that scholars can employ in their work. Blue Collar Workers More Likely To Work Past 65
Blue-collar workers are more likely to remain on the job after they turn 65 than white-collar employees. says a study published in the American Journal of Public Health. The researchers also found that lower-income workers are at greater risk for developing chronic and painful conditions, particularly arthritis, later in life.
